ORDER OF THE PURPLE PORPOISE


You might have to zoom in on this to read it  but it is the certificate we received after crossing the equator.  As I mentioned earlier we crossed the equator and the international date line at the exact same time and we did it on March 21 which was the spring equinox.  That is apparently a rare event that only a few ships did during WWII.  This was also the first time our ship, the Eurodam, has ever been south of the equator.  Apparently this was the occasion for a special designation so we are now not only Shellbacks we are members of the ORDER OF THE PURPLE PORPOISE GOLDEN SHELLBACK.  We will frame these to display at home.
