DENITA, our 1985 Oyster 435 |
About Us
After many years living the suburban lifestyle and raising two children we sold our house in Edmonds, Washington and fulfilled a dream by buying a 37' Tartan sailboat and moving aboard to live. Soon we found ourselves in a larger 43' Oyster and we dreamed of sailing the Pacific. Obligations to our family and our jobs eventually made that adventure impractical so after 12 great years of living on our boat and sailing in the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia we purchased a used motor home to see if traveling in a "land yacht" might be an acceptable alternative that would not require cutting all the ties that going offshore in our sailboat would. We subsequently sold the boat and lived in our third and last motor home, a 2011 Tiffin Allegro Bus (see Norv Orbus above). Like our boat it is also 43' and had just about everything we could want. It was our condo on wheels and we were quite happy with it for about 8 years. Eventually we settled in Las Vegas, NV and bought a house where were are living out our retirement without sails or wheels with our cat Peanut and our dog Mindy. We have lots of fond memories and are making new ones every day.
