MEET NORV ORBUS THE 3rd

With, among other things, a full bathroom in the back and...

..a regular residential refrigerator in the kitchen.

With boats it is called "twofootitis".  Don't know what it is called with land yachts but in our case it was "threefootitis".  Meet Norv Orbus The Third.  He is three feet longer then Norv II, has a tandem or "tag" axel and a bath and a half floorplan.  Now that we are no longer both working all day and we spending more time on the coach we are finding that we need just a little more space.  Other then the extra three feet we are also moving up with some newer amenities and updated systems which will also be nice.  Just a few pictures here with more to come after we take delivery on Thursday the 8th.  On a sad note we are having to give up our membership at Port Susan Camping Club and will be listing our lots for sale.  As it turns out they have a 40 foot rule.  That makes no sense since the roads can handle up to 45 feet and a motorhome can legally be up to 46 feet in Washington.  The rule is rooted back in the mid 1970's but apparently keeping up with the times is not an option for the Port Susan Board so we are just moving on. After a road trip to get acquainted and do a shake down we will stay at our normal winter camping spot at Lake Pleasant year round until we can hit the road full time.  It's a lot closer to Seattle and makes many things easier.  Still, we like our lot at Port Susan and will miss it along with some of our neighbors.

We have been away from this blog for a while trying out another one but we are back.  For now at least, we are going to leave the postings on that blog and just refer you to that one for activites between our last post here and our next one.  Too much work to recreate all the old posts.  Here is the link:

Visiting Skagit Valley Tulips

For the first time ever Walt and I visited the tulip fields in Skagit Valley.
It was about a week too late though. The blooms were spent and at the
end of their life but we got in for free and didn't have to deal with the
thousands of people who visit at the height of the season.

January 2011 Trip to Hawaii

We were able to spend 10 days in Hawaii at our favorite place on the island of Maui the Kaanapli Beach Hotel.

Whale watching was one of the highlights of our trip.

WINTER QUARTERS

We made the trip from Port Susan back to Lake Pleasant, our winter quarters. Gizmo is now a prisoner of the motor home as she can not wander freely here. It's the leash or nothing and she really REALLY does not like the leash. We are in a different spot this year because we now use our satellite dish and so we are in an area with better reception. Will post a picture or two later.

I'm baaaack...

Well, I enjoyed a month or so (the only thing I count is treats) at our boat, Denita. I was happy to get back here to Port Susan however because I was concerned about the small critters getting out of control. I have been working hard to keep the population down which is something I don't have to do on the boat. Around there everything is way bigger then me.

So today I am frustrated because it is too wet outside for my little pink feet. I guess I will just have to sit it out here inside and watch the football game with the humans. Could be worse I suppose. We could be in the boat, crossing the Straits in a storm - been there, done that!

SOME TIME WITH DENITA

Since the motor home needed to go in to the dealer for some repairs that were going to take a couple of weeks, we moved back onboard Denita and spent some time cruising Puget Sound like old times. Now we find ourselves having second thoughts about selling her.

While in Liberty Bay we spent a couple days with our old dock buddies Bob and Sherry Custer just before they departed on their dream trip to Mexico. Here we waive good bye and salute them with an air horn send off.
